water change help!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
thats what i do. dont use the hose....unless its hooked up to your sink with warmish water

i would be afraid to run a hose directly to my tank from the sink since i wouldnt be able to tell the temp of the water untill it was already hitting the tank,

second question : whats the standard for conditioning water being added during a 20% water change? do i need to add tap water conditioner? or are the levels of clorine low enough not to matter?

With my 55g, I just use the 5g bucket method. 20% is only about 11 gallons, so I usually only have to do 3 buckets, and I have 3 of them. When I get my bigger tank, I might invest in a very long Python suction, so I can drain the water directly outside and only carry the buckets with the new water. I should be getting a 120g+ within the next month, and water changes on that thing will be a b1t¢h.

Use Prime. Best water conditioner on the market. I trust it with my fishies lives.

yeahhh, i do the bucket method. I HATE it because i'm very impatient, very very impatient.

i use a big plastic bin

how much of the water conditioner and stuff do u guys usually put in after ur 20% water change? or can u jsut leave it without ne conditioner? does it matter? thnx in advanced.

honestly, i don't bother with conditioner anymore. I probably should use it but i don't really notice a difference either way, and imo, less chemicals you use the better
