move to Scotland water quality is great!!
YeaH, but it is full of SCOTS! LOL.

i use stress coat about every 3rd or 4th water change. the experts at my lfs told me that with my fish, water straight from the tap will be fine. the only reason i use anything at all is to aid in repair of damaged scales and fins. i do a 50% water change in my 125 every 4-5 days. my oscars grow about 1"per month. the temp doesnt ever rise 1 deg when i do water changes becouse i match the water temp in the tank exact. my fish are as happy and healthy as any ive ever seen :) they also told me if you want to grow out fish quickly change the water every day and feed them alot of food.

How do you mixed the Cloram-X w/ water. Does it have to be distilled water? What container do you use and how much to use before dumping to the tank?

Im very interested on this, Im a firm believer on Stress coat, just ordered (5) 1 gallons again, and w/ all my tanks and 75%-80% weekly waterchanges. My conditioner does not last very long. If you can give me more info, I might just switch to this product, from stress coat.

Thanks very much. :headbang2

ditto.
and they dont have online shopping at that site =\.

HI everyone. I may be showing my ignorance so feel free to correct me! I work at a local pet store and had a customer tell me that some other fish person told him that in order to get his Common Oscar to grow faster he needs to do 25% water changes every other day :WHOA: . Is this true? I told him that He shouldn't change anymore then 20% once a week unless he was trying to induce breeding or giving birth. but had never heard of water changes speeding up the growth proccess, and only frekwent feedings of hi protein foods 2 or more times a day would slightly increase his growth rate. NOW! What do you guys think? Was I wrong in my advice and or have you ever heard anything like this before? Thanks for you guys feed back in advance.

Dan

only 20% once a week? this is always the problem with lfs workers. they tend to invariably know feck all about keeping fish. 30% a week is ideal more than 50% is too much.

I have another question. What would make the oscar turn from dark to light colored like every couple of day?
