Nice! How big was he/she when you took this pic? How long did it take to get to that size?

During a water change above, I usually take the water level of the sump down to pump intake level
below the sump at a normal level
Because I like to do water changes often......either every other day, or sometimes every day, my water changes are never obviously visual in the tank, only in the sump..
I run my sumps almost full, and can quickly and easily do a 50 gal + or more water change in about 5 minutes by closing a valve to the sump.
This sends old water directly to the garden, and 5 minutes later, filling the sump with a hose.
I never turn off filtration or pumps, during the process.
I prefer frequent small water change of maybe 50 to 75 gals (depending on the size o sump), instead of large massive ones, due to municipal water plant volatility here. due to chemical additions,, or temp change.
At certain times, when the Humboldt current swings by, tap water temp can drop 20+ degrees, and the organics that accompany it, chemical disinfection can also vary widely
For that same reason, I usually add new water to the sump, as opposed to the tank, in that way it gets thoroughly mixed before coming in contact with the fish.
My current planted sump/refugium is a 125 gal tank, below, running at normal water volume..

Use syphon emptying directly into sink next to tank and python doing the same. I'll also fill with python while still draining to dilute the waste in the remaining water even more.PXL_20220402_003618327.MP.jpg

Lol, today was one of the 3 days of the week I do my water replacements. No decent pics from me yet but this thread was bumped at the perfect time.
