Water Changes below output

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
When an xp3 is dirty and the water level is real low it will bog down. I am not sure how bad this is on the motor. I turn the output to the lowest setting and go from there...

Ya, unplug the filter when doing waterchange. The water level could dropping below the spraybar would not causing you have to prime the filter again. As long as your water level do not go below the intake strainer then you do not need to prime when you're ready to start the canister up. You could also buy a plug adapter with a switch attached at Home Depot for $5 if you want to avoid constantly unplug with every water change.

thanks!
it's not gonna splash everywhere thought..is it?

No...

Is there an award for the shortest post?

I have all my filters plugged into the same strip so I can turn them all off at once for WC. I got sooooo tired of having to take my Eheims apart to refill & restart!
