water changes from the top or bottom.

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
all the water in the tank is the same... however all the "crap" collects on the bottom.. its a wise choice to take the crap out of the tank...

congrats, youve justified letting your fish swim in their own toilet. i however suggest a more realistic and caring approach to fishkeeping.

If this is your belief then why are you not doing daily gravel vacs. I mean why on earth would you let you fish swim in there own toilet for a whole day?:screwy:

i think you might need some more flow in your tanks then if you have to clean them that much.
i have enough flow in my tanks so nothing gets the chance to sit on the bottom, my filters pick up everything floating around

well they may be over filtered but you probably dont have enough flow in the tank
i have a few powerheads and AC HOB filters (great for creating flow in tanks) on most of my tanks and my gravel hardly gets that dirty cause "poo" never gets a chance to settle at the bottom.
might want to try adding a few powerheads or something to your tanks to keep you from doing 4 WCs per week

just realized i got carried away with this, sorry for the derail arowanaoscar

all my tanks are overfiltered.

So do you clean your filters 3 to 4 times a week too? If the poo is caught in the filter then it's still in your water column. So if ya don't your poor fish are still drinking the water of poo :barf:

i dont do it that often because i have to, in fact, if i didnt have such great biofiltration on my tanks, it would be considered too much. good thing i know what im doing. actually, you will find that fish like clean water. there is MORE then enough flow in my tank, despite what you think you might know about my set-ups that you have never seen.

as a matter of fact i do. i have a lot of growout tanks and some "overstocked" community tanks that require more filtration then others, but since ive already committed the day to doing WC, and fish appreciate clean water, i do them all at the same time.

:ROFL:NO not at all:screwy:

Actually I'm just trying to understand your logic. As most fish-keepers here can be witness to, your over abundance of tank and filter cleaning although not a detriment, is not anywhere near necessary.:)

BTW whats with all the name calling? You seem very unsecure will the answer you gave to my questioning.
