If you use the EI dosing 50% is required WEEKLY.

High Gh/Kh = 30% weekly

Again no easy answer, but 30-40% weekly isnt a bad rule of thumb

50 % weekly

I have a medium planted 55. I am running diy co2 and liquid ferts 2 times a week. I do a 40% water change every week and have did not clean my gravel until I changed it over to sand.

I had an understanding with non c02 tanks that are heavily planted you never do a waterchange, only top offs.[/QUOTE]

Is this correct???

Sometimes I feel "slacking" in my efforts. But all of the stock is thriving, including discus and angels. I even had angel spawn in the tank... There is NO CO2 and NO FERT DOSE .. The tank is well established..

It only works if your tank is heavily planted. Having a full carpet as well as other plants. That way the plants alone can take care of the tank. Any nitrates and ammonia is almost instantly converted.
