water changes?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
ya, you wanna up your waterchanges just to be on the safe side. you got alot of messy big fish in there. they would benefit from at least a 30-40 % waterchange 2 times weekly, at least.

Howdy,

With several 2 ft fish in a 6 ft tank ... you may also want to think about upgrading. A larger water volume and bigger filtration will help you with your water quality, and I bet the fish won't mind a larger habitat, either ;)

With your bioload you need to keep p on the waterchanges, with a light load and a balanced tank you can go a long time between them, the ultimate answer comes from your water tests, if you test at least once a week and your ammonia and nitrites stay at zero with nitrates below 20 ppm you can put it off but even then you are playing russian roulette, eventually something will go wrong and when it does it can happen fast. Why risk it?
