Water Changes

Honestly, I do a 50% water change about every four to six weeks. If you read some of my threads you will see that I am experimenting with houseplants to lengthen the intervals between changes based upon water parameters.

I would just go with the major consensus.

I do a 50% water change every Wed and Sun. Weather it needs it or not. I had some bad issues awhile back and lost two rays:( but since i added another homemade filter box and a 900 gallon per hour pump its been fine. also took out a bunch of sand. So it really depends on your filtration and water flow. Im 100 times better now than i was.
 
Drip system....my 240 gets about 50 gallon of freshwater per day, 120 gets about 30 gallons per day

i do a 50-70% once a week sometimes a little longer between changes, depends on my water params, which usually depends on what i feed my ray.
 
I usually do a 50-70% as well, at least once a week and more if I get the chance. Prime doesn't smell horrible, it's the sweet smell of the best water conditioner money can buy!

i got a 6x2x2
2 motoros (pair) about 12cm's and 20cm's.
i do about 40% once a week.

my filteration is .... 1FX5, and a 1 Wet/Dry sump.
i feed them twice a day.
this routine seams to be working well for me.


I personally think if you find yourself that you NEED to do a 50% daily or every 2 days. You either
a)over stocked tank, and need to do (b and c)
b)need to feed your fish a bit less
c) need to re-assess your filteration

but if you just love doing it that much, i can understand ppl want the absoulte best for their fish, and thats cool. so thats understandable too.
