Does anybody have ideas on cooling water before it goes into a tank?? AZ hose water is to HOT -ice ok - found that out the hard way - lost a lot of fish - dumb me did not think about the temp of water especially since i had the hose running for awhile yesterday before I put it the the tank - I did not have it running long enough I guess.

we usually run the water from an inside tap, and don't use a garden hose as they tend to hold onto some bad stuff. look into a python or an equivelient. and welcome to MFK

I do water changes the old fashion way, buckets...

fill bucket up with water from bathtub faucet, pour dechlorinator into bucket, pour dechlorinated water from bucket into tank

nothing wrong with using a garden hose....i myself and lots of other people use them for water changes... no problems... i just flush it out before i use it to put water in anything..

u should get an adapter for a garden hose and use it on the kitchen sink, then u can adjust the temperature to whatever ever u want.

The easiest way to deal with this... do smaller water changes more often...

Thanks!! All the info has been helpful - i am just trying to get my tank going so i can add Trophs to it!! I am very excited for that group to come in my tank.
