I am wondering how much and how often are your water changes and on what size of tank? 10% weekly, 20%, 5% or monthly, bi monthly

20% ~every 4-5 weeks, or when necessary (monitor water specs daily). 1720 gallons.

I do about 30% bi-weekly and siphon the gravel in my 220g. I would do more, but the most I can change at once during the winter is a little over 60 gallons, because the way I refill the tank is by filling two 34g trash cans w/ water, then using a pump to get the water into the tank. During the summer, I can just use the water hose and change as much as I want to (usually about 40-50%).

Are you saltwater or fresh?

I am starting at 50 gallons weekly on my 860 gallon pond and was just wondering if that will be enough? I checked my water last night and the nitrates were not even 5 and all other stats were good and I havent changed out any water since I got it up and running 7 weeks ago, just added around 100 gallons from evap.

Small changes as needed (bases on NH3). When it comes to sharks and rays, I'm not overly concerned with nitrate levels. Ammonia is the killer.

I don't know if this is the right place for this but it has to do with my Ray pool; if you had a choice between an ETSS 1000 or Lifereef VS3-72 skimmer which one would you choose? ETSS is rated for 600 but you can get the extention that will bring it up to 1200 gallons and of course a bigger pump or the VS3 which is rated for 1500 gallons but doesnt need a pressure pump therefore using less electricity. These are both used btw and the etss is 200 w/o pump as with the Vs3 only its 250 and 750 mile away and hoping for someone going by that area to bring it with them.
