Water Changes

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
i change 75% on all my tanks once a week(it might be a little over kill but been doing it for & years and never had a problem)

I got it used for $400 bucks. It stands 60" tall. Like I said its a bit finicky but works good if you stay after it. If you buy the etss used check for leaks cause they crack easy. So handle it with care. The guy who makes them actually lives about 10 min from my house here in NY and one of my buddies knows him real well.

I have a dart running it right now. I think its a 3500gph pump
Actually I'm surprized a Dart would push that skimmer. I know they have lots of gph, just didnt think they would have enough pressure but u learn something new alot.

I am sure a more powerful pump would work better but it was the right price (free) So thats what I got for now. I will have to say though it dose pull a lot of nasty stuff from the water.

I got it from a local wholesaler that went out of business so I got tons of stuff for pennies on the dollar. They have a 1500 for sale also that I am going to grab just to have.

Just had a guy email me from a post I put on Craigslist about wanting to buy a large skimmer and he has a Aqua C EV 1000 with a blueline 70 pump for 600 but that seems high to me and those pumps draw 290 watts (ouch). It would have to be alot cheaper for me to bite at that.
