Water changes

Hi everyone, i have a 125 gallon and i do a 30% water change 5 days a week. Is there such a thing as doing too much water changes. I know this might sound like a dumb question but will it affect the fishes health in a negative way. I don't think it stresses them out.

30% 5 days a week? or 30% every 5 days? I feel that there is a point when it can be too much. My fish tend to get a little stressed out when I change my water so I do 30% every Sunday.


Also, 30% 5 days a week might make your water bill quite large.

water bill isn't too expensive, 5 days a week i do a 30% change. I guess i shouldn't do as many then what would you suggest?

I do 30% every 3 days...twice a week.

I don't think there is. If they are used to getting their water changed frequently they are probablly really happy you keep their environment so clean. Fresh water fish love fresh water !

I have mild mannered cichlids. Keyholes, uaru, kirbensis, rams and rainbow fish but i also have some exotic plecos. Filtration is a fluval 305 and ehiem 2215. I think im gonna take out the fluval and put it in my 55 gallon saltwater tank and get a better filter in the 125.

I have a 125g with a wet/dry filter setup with Africans. I do a 25% WC one to two times a week depending on my ammonia levels. My NitrIte and NitrAte levels stay in check. The only thing that fluctuates is my ammonia level.

you can't change your water too much
