If you’re interested in a new way to empty it, this is the pump I use to empty my 220:
I also let my return pumps keep pumping the water from my sump up to my tank while I drain it, so I probably pump out at least 200 plus gallons. I use this pump connected to a 50ft length of 1” vinyl tubing and it empty’s my tank in less than ten minutes.

This is how far I go each weekend:

The vinyl tubing is pretty expensive, I think around a dollar per foot, but it really lets the water flow. As I recall, J jaws7777 your tank is in your basement. Even if you had to buy 100-150 ft of tubing, I think you would definitely be glad you did. You could easily have your tank drained in less than 15 minutes.

Oh yeah i use a spare dct and 75 ft of pool filter hose to drain out of the basement window. Takes about 8 min to drain but its too damn cold out to mess with it lol i just spend the time goofing off with the kids

I use a smaller pump on my 75 and takes abou ten minutes. Have to watch it closely or will take it down to a couple of inches. Usually put it on a plastic plate so it doesn’t bring up substrate.

Lmao im imagining vader and the pump. Does he go ballistic?

My poor giant gourami probably hates w/c days (which is twice a week). She's about 12" tall, and my w/c is around 70%. So, she has to stay nearly on her side for nearly an hour during those w/c. She doesn't appears to be stressed out at all about this.
