water claity issue

White clouds usually mean ammonia, or rather a variety of bacteria that eats ammonia. Please test your ammonia right away, and get ready to do a 50% water change when the results are high.

It doesn't take much ammonia in the water to be lethal, a 20% water change is nothing more than a token.....to get the ammonia down be ready to change a LOT more than that.

thanks i did a 50% water change today and added some prime will see how that does.. and also got myself a water test kit( won it at a raffle at connie's). the weird thing is well rather lucky is that all my fish are acting normal. will keep you guys posted thanks for the help.

i just changed my carbon a week or so ago. Im tweeking my feeding schedule as I think that may have been part of the problem too. and i will probably be doing more frequent water changes when it gets back clear. I will try to shoot a vid and post it tonight so you guys can see what it looks like.

if thee parameters are good, water changes and good mech filtration will do the trick. lately ive switched to 50% WC on my 130 everyweek (used to do 30%) and started using 50 micron filter socks and my water is crystal clear throughout the week
