water dragon + turtle

Eh, I only mentioned head as I have seen dragons tear each others up and severing the necks in pet stores.

Water dragons are active, sometimes nervous little lizards. I wouldn't recommend keeping them with anything other than another water dragon, and then only a pair. Also, the waste produced by the turtle may contain certain bacteria that is beneficial to the turtle yet harmful to the water dragon or vice versa. Also, nearly any aquatic turtle has the ability to cause severe damage to a lizards body. Now add in different feeding requirements and communication barriers and you've got a recipe for disaster. For instance, if the water dragon is annoyed with the turtle in his area he has no way of saying, hey this is my territory. The turtle will have no clue what all that puffing and posturing is about and will ignore it completely resulting in physical confrontation. Also, to answer your other question yes that would be a good environment for a solo water dragon.

i dont recommend mixing reptiles at all...that is a dope looking water dragon setup...i think you should just go straight for the water dragon setup so i can envy you when you post flicks...

That's what I'm saying. That setup is awesome. You could leave it empty and it still looks sweet.

i guess those are your answers. Personally I'd be worried about toes and limbs missing, but there really is a whole bunch of reasons not to against the one reason of they look good to us together.

hmmm, ok point taken - i wont be adding a turtle. i think i will try to get my water dragon set up looking something like that though.

it would have been a snake-necked turtle, i suppose i will just have to get another tank when i inevevitably decide to get one:D

thanks for all the replies.
