Is it just me or is this happening to anyone else in So.Cal.

I have a 100 gallon sump and my water level has always been at about 75% to the top. As of late the water level has drastically declined to about 10% as my sump is almost drained completely and pump running dry? Mind you this is in a course of a 24hrs period?

I never had water evaporate on me in such a fast rate? I checked for leaks and non what so ever. In the past I've never had this problem. Something that I had recently added was plumbing my 180 with my 600? could this be the cause? if so why?

Do you have a cover on your tank?

Yes,

Nothing has changed but the addition of the 180 which is plumbed with my 600. I've never had this problem till recent but if adding the 180 is the cause can someone explain why?

Both tanks are covered, yes.

Do you think there is more water going down your main drain and the water from the 180 is going to your 600?

do you have a cover on the sump???? that seems way to quick for a 24 hour period but i know its hot in socal.... 100% sure there is no leak somewhere....

I think its just normal evaporation. I have a 100 gallon and a 30 gallon wet/dry. The 100 is covered while the sump is not. I lose about 1" of water from the main tank in 5 days, just in time for my 5-day water change.

could there be some dirt partially clogging the entrance into the sump, diminishing the inflow into the sump? less water coming into the sump and the same amount of water being pumped back in?

I've had this happen in the sump of my softshell tank....

I think it's the weather. My pond has been evapporating a lot more than usual.

what's the humidity in the room?
