heres another idea, i plan to use a small quiet one 1200, its about 175gph at the head height i measured. will the added water flow stop the overflow from losing prime?

tuff one. id say just silicone a pipe down your tank or get a overflow happening
 
there is an overflow,but im worried about it losing prime
 
can anyone tell me if a 30g is all tempered glass? this tank is from like the 70s or 80s
