Water flow / spray bar preference

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Dont drill more holes in the spray bar it will lower the velocity.

I took mine off the 2217 on the 75 gal and just use the elbow point slightly towards the front glass to make a whirlpool type of thing. All the gunk builds in one spot right under the return.

Can take a pic tomorrow

And that seems to work well? I'm not positive that will work with my butterflies and floating plants, but maybe it will?

I really need a little extension to have the elbow / spray bar a little deeper under the surface. Right now where I keep my water level (with like 2 inches to the lid) the spray bar is barely below the water surface.

In the past i positioned it verically and got a similar effect. If i remember correctly i cut the elbow and used a small peice of the green tubing to attach the bar to the remaining elbow.

looks like it's playing in the current. Awesome!

Definitely see the concern with the butterfly fish. the good part is you can always drill more holes if needed.:)
Unfortunately, I don't know anything about canisters, so will have to wait for pictures.
