Water for tank/ water change

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Tap water. Nothing else never have never will. I have never had a problem that i can link back to this of the 4 fish i have had die

One jumped out
One got beat up
One would not eat after i moved her to a new tank
One was sick when i get him and he lasted 5 days

None of those have anything to do with my water quality.

On another note to you who have HIGE amounts of filtration

I run a DIY 20 gallon wet/dry 800GPH and a 700GPH power head for movement on my 180 Gaool with clear water. no other filters, no UV, nothing. Biweekly Water change and everything has been fine in my tank for 10 months.

Do any of you know an expert article that might be able to reafirm what all of yall are saying?

Sure are you looking for Science journals or less esoteric experts.

Dr. Richard Ross (father of FW stingray husbandry) writes RO/DI is recommended but not required in his book "Fresh Water Stingrays"

Simply Discus website recommends this for Discus that are breeding or wild caught.

Aquaculture use of RO water for breeding fish from Soft acidic water:

Well if you insist on waving your goods in our face please inform us simple humble fish keepers as to what species you keep, and how many in the 180 Gaool tank. Also could you please convert Gaool to gallons or liters as I being a humble simple fish keeper am not aware of this marvelous unit of measure.

I have the same problem with typos because I have big man fingers and I'm using a little laptop most of the time. You little fella's out there that are good typer's just gota give us a break.........;)

Heres a tip that helps me: Read the whole sentence and you can make out the point most of the time. For example "180 G***** Tank" Most likely the missing word is gallon........easy

Exactly!

All my water changes are straight tap water, cold water even. Never had an issue and some of my fish are breeding so I'm guessing they are happy :naughty:

Oh I was being an ******* intentionally. I knew what he meant.

Not saying tap doesn't work in some areas with some fish it works great. In the north east if you are doing Africans then tap is great.
