Every week...the water level in my tank goes down an inch...For exmaple...i will do a water change on Saturday, and fill it up (55 gallons) amd by Thursday or Wedsday the water level is down an inch...why...i leak tested it before. and i have looked for leaks since and i can't find any. Is this normal...the Tank is a 55 gallon with 5
Gouramis. ThE Temp. is 80 degrees. the Ligth stays on from 400 pm to 10 0r 11 pm...not a strong light ...i think...no real plants..whats the deal.

Same thing with my 265 my 55 wet/dry 1 1/2 down every week. If tank was leaking that much you would see it.

make sure where your hob is that there isn't a large opening. I take something and cover it to cut back on it. My 75g has little to almost no evap right now.

Yeah my 55 has 2 HOB filters and a its been really cold here but really dry to alot of static on my clothes. My tank lost about 1-2 inches last week. HOB=(hang on back) filter.

One of my 29s is really bad about this. It will seriously go down 2 inches every couple days. I figure its because my HOB doesn't have a cover

my dual 20 gallon planted tanks with a 10 gallon sump loose close to 10 gallons in 1 week. The sump an old 10 gallon tank has only the heat and a pump in it, the filter media is above it. I do a water change on Thur fill the sump to the brim and by wed night the tanks only has like 1 to 2 inches of water in it. I have to check it every day I am always afriad it will lose more water one week and have the heaters exposed.

I have a wood stove to heat the house and its really, really dry in here.
My tank looses an inch of water every few days it seems. I thought I had a leak too but found none.
