or, don't use carbon at all (because it doesn't really make a difference) and then you would have little recycles every time you change out the carbon. Remember, if you decided to remove the carbon for good, stagger that as well. I made the mistake of not staggering the removal of carbon from my tank and my BB crashed.

Its a good idea to stagger everything when it comes to your filters that way you can really avoid making a mistake and causing a whole cycle.
