I seem to have some issues in my 180 PBass and Dat tank. Stock is 2 Peacock bass, and 3 Indo Dats, 1 Motoro, 2 Royal Plecos. I have lost 2 Tigrinus, 1 Flash Zebra, and now a bowfin that I just got over the weekend. All these fish die usually between 12 to 48 hours. I have added Dats from BigRich to this tank and they are fine, added the Bass and they are fine but for whatever reason, these guys die all the time. I'm done with adding fish in there for now. I also did a 50% water change last week but that didnt seem to solve anything.

Filtration and etc:

3 Emperor 400's
1 Marineland 360 Canister
2 Coralinas
2 Round Bubble Disks

Water temp is 80 degrees and I do weekly or bi-weekly 15% water changes or so.

They eat Freeze Dried Krill and Shrimp only, nothing live.

Here are the water tests:

Tests are about 8-10 minutes old so they may appear darker than normal. But when I compared them, they looked good.

Thoughts?

Have you read the directions for the nitrAte test? You have to shake the bottles and the solution for periods of time in order for the results to be accurate. High nitrAtes can cause a whole slew of problems.

I think the easy answer for you is to step up water changes and cut back on feedings until things resolve themselves. Have you considered switching to a wet/dry sump instead for filtration? Best of luck.

The fish seem to be normal, they swim, eat, I'm gone for a few hours and then I come back and they are dead. My Tig was breathing very hard after 2 days or less and then I basically watch him die which sucked. But everything else is fine. Dont understand.

The best I can tell the tests look fine. Does your water appear to be clear or is it cloudy? Since the fish die so soon after putting them in could it be more of an aggressive/fighting issue or perhaps not acclimating them well enough?

They go in a bucket with the water they came in, add mine, wait about 20 minutes or so, then dump some water out and add more of mine, I have a digital thermometer so I make sure the temps are within a degree or two. After about 45 minutes to and hour the fish are released wether its from my tanks for from the store.

Water is crystal clear

Here is a video that is about a month or so old taken with my cell so its not the best clarity

As you can see they are all healthy and eat great. I have since moved some of the fish in the vid to another tank.
