Water monitor

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I remember quite well, so no more hand feeding.

I will never again own a water montior. I purchased a juvie / adolescent for a show and it was the meanist thing i have ever encountered. Finding one that is tame is an option but TBH tame or not I dont really trust them. They are too food driven and there claws are much worse than my tegu's. Idk They are just not the monitor for me. But find out for yourself! :) and best of luck!

Cheers

They have a taste in particular for lizards, I watched one at the reptile store eat a similar sized water basilisk!

Oh my! My Croc monitor escaped from his cage and ate a 2 1/2 foot long spiny tailed iguana and a couple red eared sliders!

This^, especially if they are wild caught. Man, these things can be nasty.
I had one only a short while, and it grew quite a fair bit.
