My Nitrates have been reading high, my ammonia is 0, Nitrite is 0. My ph is low...like 6.0. How can I get it all in range? I've added Prime to detoxify the nitrate.:screwy:

actually, if you really are concerned about nitrates then before you do water changes and if you use tap water, then check the tap water for nitrates first. Where i live there always nitrates already in the tap water but i'm not that concerned about it since i don't keep SW inverts. But if your nitrates are still high even with large water changes, then maybe you should check out a nenitrator that uses anaerobic bacteria that changes nitrates to nitrogen gas. somebody before already posted some info about it before.
good luck.

prime is doing nothing but treating a symptom. if you dont do water changes then the nitrates can build to a very stressful level, if their not their already. keep up on the water changes and if you can use rodi water. that way you will know how much nitrate your putting in. usually 0-5ppm depending on the unit your using. using rodi water is not always necesary, so theirs easier alternatives out there!!

if you are from the uk i have a nitrate filter u can have! neva used it my water is sweet
