Water Parameters for BGK

just throw a market shrimp in there for a few days, then take it out...there is you tank bio-jumpstart...then check the perams till they are in the clear...then get your knife...then enjoy.....as for the water prams same as any tropical fish, keep the water at around 80f and pristine...wc every week to 2 weeks of like 50% or so (i do more then that in 1 week, but alot depends on the total stock)...and you will be good...get a slate chunk to lean onto the side of the tank for a house that you can still see your knife from...gl
 
sbuse, so just the normal raw frozen market shrimp should be good to jumpstart the bb? i currently have a piece of pvc gutter (stuff left over from my DIY moonlight) cut and leaned up against the side of the tank to act as a cave/ hiding place

yes...it puts out lots of amonia as it rots thus giving the system a jumpstart...just put it in an onion bag so you can take it out later...
