Hey guys my 50 gallon tank is cycling right now it's day 8 I was dumb and added 5 angelsfish and 8 glowlight tetra's and a BN pleco before it started to cycle, and my ammonia is about .03 or .05 ish and my nitrite just shy of 1.0 and nitrate almost 20ppm i did a water change this morning (35%) should I do another water change right now? I feel like the Nitrite is hurting 2 of my angels bad. 2 of them keep hiding and have clamped fins and shiver a little bit.

What I am doing thus far
1)Put a friends old filter cartridge behind my filter cartridge
2)using Seashem Prime to condition water
3)using Seashem Stability
4)using Aquarium salt (1 teaspoon per gallon)
5)20-30% water change everyday

Any more advice? Thanks in advance

The salt will help with the nitrite a bit. The fish are already in there, the best you can do is use copious amounts of Prime and hope the Stability does its job.

We've given you as much advice as is humanly possible to give. You have all the information already :)

Just use it, and monitor your water daily.

Well you can always ask your LFS to hold onto your fishes until you cycle it.

Because they can't sell your fish for $$, if they have your fish, they have a tank that they can't use. That really sucks man. How are your ammonia/nitrIte levels today since you added those filter pads?

Ok did a 13% (lol) water change, just checked the ammonia it reads .4ppm Nitrite reads 2.0ppm and Nitrates are showing up but still less then 20ppm

Ugghhh Nightmare.

3 of my angels are hiding inside of a log and the other 2 are doing just fine swimming around with fully extended fins
