WATER PROBLEMS !!!!!!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Yes thats the best bio-media for a canister. I have several canisters running with nothing else in them.

Yes. The wispers will handle everything else you just need to bump up your bio filtration.

You have a great deal of air in your water along with too much carbon in your filters.(you don't need any in the canister...replace it with bio-media. cut your water changes in half and limit them to 25%. You might also want to seriously concider replacing the two wisper filters with a single AC70.

hey wolf why do't you need carbon in canister filters?

Sounds like it could be a bacterial bloom. How much light does the tank get? What are the water parameters?

In his case because he has two wisper filters with carbon in the cartrages. If I use carbon at all it's usually in the HOB filters because it's a lot easier to servace and change that way. You don't need very much carbon...if any...IMO. Canister space is better off when used for free flowing media like bio-stars or ceramic rings.

Ok thanks wolf..one thing what is HOB filter short for?
