Assuming you mean large American Cichlid, I'd have to say Oscar as well. I have had large Jack Dempsey's and many Parachromis (excluding Dovii) that would never pick on their tankmates they could easily kill - but they certainly wouldn't tolerate being picked on themselves.

In terms of personality is vague. You mean owner interaction? Or friendly to tankmates?

In terms of owner interaction, probably the most interactive fish I've kept was a vieja guttalatum. But he was aggressive to tankmates.

As far as being docile to tankmates, my severums never bothered anybody about anything.

I had a large male convict that was offspring of the convict pair in my avatar, he grew out to be about 5" TL and was the most interactive of the CAs I've owned.

He would follow around and or swim back in forth anytime someone got near to the tank expecting to be fed. If you didn't feed him he would start gill flaring. Was pretty amusing.

Currently my buttikoferi and my male Texas cichlid are the most interactive fishes I have. Just got my first oscar yesterday and he/she is already following me around the tank tho.

Cichlid wise I would say the most pleasantly interactive fish I have owned was a female SRD Flowerhorn that would let me pet her and drop food into her mouth from above the water like a koi.
Non Cichlid was a 30" SA Lungfish that I would hand feed and would let me pick him up out of the water.

My male green terror is always watching what’s going on outside the tank. If I’m in the room he keeps his eye on me. Go up to the tank and he’ll chase you back and forth. He is highly entertaining. But I wouldn’t call him friendly. He bites hard and is aggressive.

My koi are the friendly ones. XD
