My koi carp and my old saltwater porcupine puffer are/were much more interactive than any cichlids I've owned.
The puffer was on another level of friendliness. It loved to be stroked and would pace up and down the tank with excitement at the prospect.

I have a bunch of 5 very friendly SAEs that can be hand fed. They rush towards me like rockets if my hands go in the water.
