Water reading

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
It looks zero to me also.

It also appears there is some whitish residue in the test tube in the last 2 pics you posted, maybe time for a test tube cleaning if so.

What I personally do is pour slowly in the sink which is almost white. If I see any green then I rerinse my vial and retest. Sometimes it's the vial. I rinse my vials out with distilled water. Deionized water is even better.

I think that’s just bubbles from all the shaking. I did just clean the vials before testing. But I’ll relook over them just to be sure.

No white sinks here:/
I have started cleaning my vials with distilled water for the past year now. Something important I learned here:)
Is deionized water sold by distilled water? I can’t say I’ve ever seen it, but I haven’t ever looked for it either. I just had distilled water on hand for my iron, so that’s what I’ve used to clean the vials before and after using them.

Which one is right? I feel like I never have this much trouble reading test tubes. Lol

Zero in my opinion as well. If there was any worrying ammonia, the surface of the liquid on the 2nd picture when looking horizontally would have a green tinge.

Good luck with the pond. I almost grabbed an oranda yesterday. It wanted to eat my fingers through the glass....but the tank it was going to is not big enough long term. I got a dojo loach instead.

Thank you.
I’m not sure I’d be able to resist an oranda right now, lol I love those guys.

My opinion...

I think you're getting a false reading. I've had this happen many times with api.

What do you suggest I do? I used a different vial for the last test, but the result was the same.

Is there a different way to clean any possible residue from the vials other then just water?
