Hi,

I do my WC's using my outside hose, so I cant control the temp. I keep my tank at 80deg F. After the 50% water change the temp is at 74-75, then slowly the heaters get it back up.. What is the danger point temp? How big of a fluctuation can the fish take?

How quickly does the temp drop? If it is dropping to 74 in about two mins I'd be concerned, but it if takes 15 mins or more to fill the tank back up I don't think I'd worry too much.

In many fish temp fluctuations are what causes spawning. Dropping is not nearly the issue as temps jumping up.

Yeah, it drops when I fill it back up.. I takes about 15 mins to fill up, when i do a 50% wc

Do you pump the water out the window to remove it?

If you don't have access to a sink to use a Python, then you probably will just have to live with it.

BOth of my sinks have "modern" spouts.. So there is no threading at the spout..Sux.. Didn't even think about it when I bought them

Ok ... I'd replace a fixture, but I value ease of maintenance over pretty much any other single factor because inconveniences lead to neglect and disinterest over the long run.

You'll be fine...that drop over 15-20 minutes isn't going to hurt the fish.

If they arent stressing out, you don't need to stress out lol
