How long should I wait to test the water in my tanks after a water change of 33%??

what r u testing for?

ammonia....I just moved my 2 4" pbass into my 100g from my 30g about 3 days ago. The ammonia in the 100g is 0ppm as always (the only fish in that tank is the 2 pbass and a 9" sail fin plec). but now my 30g has an ammonia spike of abt 4-5ppm after I added my 6" friedrichsthali to it from my 100g. It is the only fish in the 30g. I have a Ehiem ecco 2231 and a hydro sponge filter on the 30g, and I have a penguin 350 and a magnum350 on my 100g???

Howdy,

Check the flow rates of both and calculate the time point when the tank will have been thru your filters once. That does not necessarily mean complete mixing of old and fresh water, but I think it's a good enough. I guess around 15 min would be fine.

how many fish have you lost in a year?? sounds like you are doing ok to me.. like everyone say about 15-20 min sounds like a good number to wait..

I have lost 5 pbass to ick :swear: but now I know to keep the salt in and temps up

now my Pbass are fine with a temp around 84-86
