Something is wrong, are these the steps you take;
-add 10 drops of solution#1 to vail of water
-shake bottle of solution #2 for 30 seconds
-add 10 drops of solution #2 to vail of water
-shake vail of water for 60 seconds
-compare to color chart after 5 minutes
these are the basic steps for the API nitrate test, are you missing a step or something?
i might be doing this wrong then. i was going to consider another test kit, but everybody ive talked to said this is the best for the money. all my tanks have been set up for about 1 year. so their pretty well cycled, and im using dual filters. in the past when i used test strips, i would still get some levels of nitrate, not usually high however. im going to try the basic method over again, although i did follow directions. any more info would be good. how bout a diff test kit, any good ones out their??
