Water tote for indoor pond?

I wanna stop the water from evaporating. It's going in my room and I do t find something to cover it I'll have rain forest in my room. I was thinking maybe some type of clear plastic panels

If you go that route, then you're probably wanting plexiglass. Only problem is plexiglass will sag quite a bit, so you'll need to make a frame.......maybe a frame out of 1/2" pvc pipes. This is probably the cheapest way to go.

cover the top with light diffuser and then plexi over that. the diffuser keeps the plexi from sagging.
 
Look for some scrap lexan/polycarbonate its far more ridgid than acrylic and will not bow as bad. Also have a look at greenhouse panels, also very ridgid and perfect for lids with large open spans. Search "twin polycarbonate panels" on google and these greenhouse boards will show up
