My fish tank water level is dropping . It's not a crack tank this a brand new 55 gallon I purchased. I did a water change last week filled up the water above the suction cup on my thermometer and this where my water is at now. I'm guessing it's water vaporization happening . Are there plants I can get to help that ? Or should I be less concerned about it. I do weekly water changes anywhere between 40-50% depends on how much poop there is . Down below is a picture so you can get an idea how fast this happens.

By the look of that thermometer you're running around the 85 degree mark. Some might say that's a little on the warm side.

Has your tank got a good tight fitting lid too, preferably with no vents in, or minimal vents to minimise evaporation?

I am betting it's the Air conditioner sitting right above the tank. ACs also work as dehumidifiers.
Even if the back is covered ? I made a covering equal to the size of the gaps of the back where the filters are . The only opening is where the water comes out.

I just did a water change today before I took that picture I walked in the room and it felt like a dessert it gets hot where I live . But I have that taken care of. Appreciate you looking out for me.

The others have beat me to a few answers and I'm guessing you mean, evaporation?

It's how ACs work, pull the humidity out of the air then cool it.

On average you lose about a 1/2 to 1 a gallon A-day for every 50 gallons of water. With the ac and the heat of the water you will be on the higher side of that. My tank is about 1100 total gallon and I've over 20 gallons a day and in the winter it is even higher
