do a nice big water change and you will see the difference i have a similar problem with foam forming on the surface when i realy over feed but when i do my water change in the next 2 days it clears up.

i have figured out what this stuff floating in my tank is... its DITRITUSE and this stuff is covering the inside of my sump. its being sucked into the return pump and blown into my tank. WHAT SHOULD I DO HERE???

thats just a general term i guess for what youre experiencing... depending on how the intake on your sump is, try fine filter floss of sorts or a sock to strain the particles out... If you had a cannister filter it would probably have a good chance of clearing out those particles aswell
