I got driftwood in my tank and my water looks brown.how do I get rid of it????

You didn't soak long enough. Major water changes for you!

I'm going have to put some carbon, how much water can I change at one time.

some woods can take a long time to get it all out. I got this one really cool piece in one of my tanks that has not stopped tanning the water yet in 10 months. But it is too nice to take out. And some have never been a problem. BTW: I have a lot of wood.

Try a 50% water change.

don't waste money on carbon or purigen. You will put it in and the media will be wasted in 2 days and ur water will be brown again. Make sure u have good aeration and do a 20-30% water change every couple of days.

Have you ever used purigen? It takes weeks for it to be exhausted, and is reachargable. Water changes will remove the tannins, but not constantly, and the tannins will continue to build up. Carbon is an easy solution to that, as is purigen, but purigen is more costly. Purigen does have other benifits too.
