Trust me on this one, fill the steps up with plants, get some potted aquatic plants. They will help water quality and clear up your water. plus they look great.
Thanks everyone you all have given me so really good advice. So next payday I'll start adding plants an hopefully I can find so barley balls. I will also be running my pump more often. I'll keep you all up dated thanks
i'm very new to the pond thing so bear with me here i'm looking for some advice on a waterfall/filter for a pond thats gonna be roughly around 1200 gallons, any sort of input would be much appreciated
Quick up date so i picked up some barley balls an have them floating in my pond now as well as 5 Water Hyacinth. I wanted to buy more plants but I just don't have the funds now. Also I've been running my pump so we'll see how it goes. I'll get pics up later today
You can hide the barley under a rock or tucked behind something. When I've used it in the past I had it in the filter. As long as its in the water to decompose and there is enough movement to disperse the oils
