Well, I've had driftwood soaking in water for two weeks now. Bleached it twice and I've changed the water 2-3 times a day.

It's still not waterlogged, and I think it may take a while. What should I do? I've thought about just putting it in my tank and setting rocks ontop of it. Problem is I have some pretty big fish and I'd be worried about them knocking it over if they decide to one day be glass bangers.

What's the easiest way to get driftwood that doesn't sick in the tank?

i usually weigh mine down with 2 25lb weight for about 2 months for large pieces and it seems to always work i put the drift wood in a 40 gallon tub!

The driftwood in my 240 gallon has been buoyant for 4 years....

Well then how did you put it in there. They're pretty big pieces :P.

i just put rocks to hold mine down been about a year now and if i take all the rocks of it still semi floats

The tank I got was from Glasscages. It has 3 glass braces in the middle up top. And it has a glass lip around the edges. I just positioned it in there a way so that is was held in the tank by the glass. It's hard to explain. You'd have to see it. It took me forever to figure out how to get the the tree in my tank. I actually had to bend it about half an inch.

stacking rocks and big fish do not mix well.. others do it and have no problems.. the big question is do you like you fish and water in the tank or on the floor...

you can use zipties or fishing string to tie the wood to rocks and weigh it down.. this is a far better choice IMO because nothing can knock it over and shatter the tank

zipties or fishing string might look kinda tacky

heres what i did, was sawed a limb off my driftwood so it had a flat surface then drilled a hole in the middle of large took a 3 inch screw attached tile to flat end of driftwood and put the tile deep in the sand then it looks like the drift wood is growing from your tank and pinned down.

Before i did the tile trick i was stackin them drift wood pieces vertically in a corner like a jigsaw puzzle so there hittin my canpany but still getting pressured down in the water. If there floatin it can take for years but forced down only a few months to be water logged.

tacky in the tank is better than water on the floor...

i have 2 driftwoods and on both i did the same process.
First soak on water for about 2 weeks
Second boil on water for about half hour repeating this for about 4-5 days and that's it.
Why dont u try do this?

Greetings
