Waterlogging driftwood

i have a piece of driftwood in my tank for almost 6 months now weighed down by a rock and it still wants to float.. but its a little risky now that my RBP's and getting bigger.

Thats because still have air inside the wood so when you boil it air goes away and sink in the bottom of the aquarium. Try it really works

yeah i know lol but i would need a 55 gallon drum and a fire to boil this piece and i dont have anywhere to do that soo i think i am going to take it out as the fish get bigger.
