  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
aww yer im getitng some ideas here, i did try and go a bit natural in my barramundi tank and that looks alright, but im gonna have to go black i recon, black background and red bands on my toga would stand out. thnx peeps

also i have another Q, with lighting, im thinking of having 1x5ft light and 1x1ft light and 1x4ft light, im gonna line up the 5ft and 1ft lights next to each other and have the 4ft light just behing them, the 4 ft is gonna have a blue light in it to bring out the colors, and the 5 and 1ft just for lighting (white light), would that work do you think or should i just have all white? would it be too bright? sry a bit off topic.

oh and would the blue light really bring out the red bands? or should i just dump the idea?

Pick up a 6'x2' sheet of 1/4'" plexiglass and paint one side blue and the other side black. If you like you can add lettering on top of the paint (windshield graphics...sold in most auto parts stores work great for this.)

If you like a more natural look then pick up a can of tri-color spatter paint for a nice rock effect. Using the plexi makes for a quick and easy methoud of changing backings.

hmm i would have never thought of that, i was thinking just the sheet background of black and blue, but i might look into it a bit more, good idea.

that red background stands out alot, bu i think i will stay away from it, i recon it wouldnt suit me or my toga, but thnx for sharing!.

red gets old in a hurry IMO....Oh and I almost forgot...once you have the plexi painted and ready...spray it down with a coating of PAM cooking spray. This will not only attach it to the glass/acryllic of the tank..it will also prevent water from slipping in between the backing sheet and the glass, causing streaks.

theres no reason to take it off of the plexiglass sheet...to change it you simply paint over the old stuff....nothing is painted directly on the glass.
