Hi, I am thinking of adding a wavemaker in my 220gal tank. Are there any rule of thumb with gph/lph on water volume? Thanks

What kind of tank do you have, fresh or marine? What fish?

freshwater. I just dont want some dead spot in my tank. I have asian arowana, blue hook, flagtail, tiger and bichirs.

Hey, having a wave maker would certainly benefit your setup; improving filtration, oxygen levels and fish vitality (increased muscle mass and lower fat accumulations around organs). The size of pump required is debatable, I would suggest a unit capable of turning over your full volume 10-15 times an hour for generic uses, such as removing dead spots and improving fish "fitness". For tanks aimed at recreating high speed rivers or reef setups can easily take higher but this would not be necessary in your setup.

hope this helps.
