Hi guys! So I have a 110 gallon tank which is 5 length x 18"w x 2ft h tank and I'm currently using a 5 ft top filter with a submersible pump that has a 692 gph turnover rate.

The general guideline for this is that it should be around 6 to 10x the tank so this works fine? But there are still feces on the tank floor so I wanted to add a wavemaker

I read that the general guidelines for selecting a wavemaker is 20 to 30x though im not sure??

I found a wavemaker that has a rate of 2113gph. Do you guys think this is alright or too strong?

Thoughts and ideas will be most appreciated

Thank you so much!!!

If you are unsure get a variable speed one, tweak it to whatever suits you then. I'd go for quite a powerful one which you may need to run at 25-50% speed in your current tank. That way if you get a future upgrade in tank size your wavemaker will still be suitable because you'll have the luxury of turning it up to 75-100%. Get a weak one now and it'll be no good for your future bigger tank.

This is the model
Jeneca 8000L/H Wave Maker Submersible Pump ZL-221IMG-3c69a09f90b87ee523d2233fb5ee0cb2-V__01.jpg
Frequency: 50/ 60HZ
Power: 16W
QMax: 8000 lph

This will depend on some variables, fish type, pattern the wave maker generates is it a wide or narrow pattern or gyer. Some wide pattern and gyer type pumps can put out a ton of gph without a fish tornado.

I only have 1 fish in it! A 4" fahaka puffer hahaha!

Fahaka can handle a little current it'll be fine.
I just picked up two about 3/4" so small. I had a mj400 in the tank they were playing in the flow and could swim right up to the output.
