Hey haven’t posted here in a while but I was wondering if anyone has tried using the Ecotech marine mp20 or mp10 for their tanks. I would like to know how well these perform because imp thinking of purchasing the mp10 or 20 for my 50gallon breeder tank. Also is there really any benefit to having a wave maker in your tank or is it just for looks. 1 other thing has anyone
ever tried to build their own wave maker and if so how did it turn out? And if u had any success with your project would u be willing to share the idea? Thanks:)

I just added a tunze wavemaker to my 120 gallon tank, and there's more benifits than just the look it gives you. I really helps to keep debris from settling in the tank so your mechanical filtration can pick it up. I thought my tank was pretty clean until I got the wavemaker tuned in. I was amazed at the crap it stirred up

I have a mp10 on a 29bc and its sweet but with ur 50gal i would get two mp10 or a mp20. Once you get a MP you will never understand how you ever lived with out one.

I'm thrilled with my SeaSwirl.

Want. Extreme jealousy.

Also want...but more along the lines of 2x mp60 es...but there is no way I can afford those on my tank...a long term plan is being considered however.

Cool, but I dont really know if they are worth the money. I am doing one of the DIY swirlers though that was inspired by those who wanted that sort of flow, but were not rich enough to achieve it the conventional way.

Im looking into getting some sort of wave action as well...I am slightly concerned by the claims that wave action will work against tank seams and increase chance of tank failure though, especially using a second hand tank.
