and they are BORING!!! even the rtc, which i just got, but i thought they were supposed to be a little more active.
i took out all the decorations, so now all they have is a little driftwood and some river rocks, and they still manage to stay out of sight 90% of the time !!! :irked::irked::irked:
i think part of the problem is that my CK pretty much bosses everyone around

any ideas on how to make them a little more social. or at least get them to the middle of the tank instead of the back ??

You can get a moon light to observe them more when the rest of the room is dark. Cats are naturally nocturnal

yeah, but it always seems like everyone posts stuff about handfeeding, and stuff like that ...
i guess starving them would be one way lol ... :(

Is the tank in a high traffic area of your home? Most are skittish even after being kept for awhile in the same set up.

it is really normal for baby catfish to be really skittish and afraid. i only start touching my catfish after they reach the 2 foot mark. in due course they will develop character and confidence. all u need is a bit of patience!

ping pong balls float.

ive used rubber dog toys in the past to give them something to push around.

Give it time, the more stuff you take out of the tank the more skittish they will be. If they don't feel secure it will just make it worse in my opinion. Put some hiding spots for them, once hungry they will cruise around. It took mine a while but now he understands when the lid opens it's dinner time so he comes right to the surface.

Carefull with ping pong balls and dog toys make sure there to big to be eaten
