WC / CB MAX SIZE COMPARISON

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
i think every people having different in caring and growing polypterus experience, i had a example here recently, WC combo with CB, in the end CB pee take over whole tank become dominant and the rest all WC all slimmer and not growing in the tank, it can be alot of issue? but what i can hear from you guys were, WC definitely grow faster and larger if given proper care compare to CB, BUT it doesnt mean CB cant grow to its potential and max size right? one of the answer from you guys, WC 20%- 80% per week, 80% might stuned the fish? i dont know, but im doing it 20% per week first when i was keeping but i dont know anythg about pheromone, haha. second, variety of food, of course "LOAD" live food the best so far? thirdly, about setup, alot of keeper here share their experience that, size of the tank doesnt matter to polypsterus? what is that suppose to mean? i thought the larger the tank for the fish better? they said limit of space wont stop polyps growing?

Biggest tank possible, best food possible, top quality water (aka water changes) reasonable stocking levels = best potential to hit max genetic size of fish

really appreciate the sharing here, will post my new coming WC polypterus soon, will be arriving this week. teach me more about keeping them if possible. im willing to learn from you guys.

King EL, interesting observations. I have a Sen and Endi both got when they were 4” three months ago. Sen is CB and Endi WC, same tank and same diet. The Sen is now 7" and Endi is only 5.5" which is odd. I do weekly 25% water changes, but now I'm going to do 75% and see if that spurs them on to grow more, especially the Endi.
