Ahhhh nice thanks for the responses guys. Yes there's probably 10 left but problem is these are already landed in china. Lol there's so much fish that's imported here it's not funny. these little guys are really bright and colorful for being this young.

What other wild cichla can you get your hands on and ship over here?!

They have I think 9-10 sp that frequently get imported. I'm a novice cichla keeper so I don't know all the sp names and their Chinese counterparts but yes there's quite a bit of selection. I don't know if shipping to the states from china is worth the additional price at the end tho.

The regulations definitely are looser here but not necessarily pay more money. The reason that I've observered is because of the sheer bulk in orders. The only fish that I've seen to be more expensive to buy here than in the states is the elusive lince catfish.. Everything else is priced somewhat cheaper. So the real question is, should I pick up one of these Brokopondos?

Yes you should get multiple broko's..not just 1.

ANd how about a teaser thread that you constantly update. Start one and just take pics of all the different cichla you see get imported. Whether large or small. Display tanks and imports. I think it would be a fun thread. Afterall...most of us just like to see cichla. Whether we can have them or not.

Here is my dilemma, I'm in the process of planning stages for a new monster tank. Hopefully will get it started before it gets cold but until then, tank space is limited. I can place the small size broko perhaps with my altum Angels. Otherwise nowhere to grow them out. The rest of my fish will eat the broko like a feeder in its current size. Eventually when the cichla are all at least around 12", place them in the big tank. (Dimensions will be along the lines of 3.5m x 1.6m x 1.1m) in there will be my current characin collection of atfs, doradoes, wolves, bd/other rays, tigrinis/piraiba along with peace keepers such as a red arowana/albino silver/clown knife. I wanted to get a small group of peacocks in there as big dithers and wanted one of each sp as I think a group of each sp will be way too clustered for the tank size. Is it alright to keep a group of diff peacock sp instead of having multiples of each sp? For cichla, I already have a wild tems. Looking to add bahia kelberi, intermedia, melanaie, orino, azul and this broko. If I come across other rare sp to add color, then more. But I already count 7 of these peacocks already and that will inevitably cramp the tank as they get big.
