  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Each oscar usally needs about 55G but with 3 i think each should have 70-80 should be fine for life BUT and this is a big BUT if two of them turn out to be a breeding pair the other one might get actacked don't count on me wiat for someone else idea but i think 3 males should be ok in a 300G+ for life maybe PM Red Devil she could help.

ugghhhhhh want an oscar so bad.... but worried bout size how big of a tank would i need for 1 oscar 2 oscar or 3 oscar for life

Single O, or a pair. But never 3. The third O which is the weakest will be picked on all day.

Tank size does matter and how much your'e willing to do the work.
Its recommended 55Gal per O w/ one 25% water change a week.

I keep 2 O's in a 72Gal bowfront and do 50% water changes twice a week, nitrates always been under 10ppm.(7ppm to be exact).
No problems.. yet.

One=55 gallons
Two=75 Gallons
Three=100 Gallons

These are bare minimums in my experience. If aggression allows and you can make the necessary water changes (75%+ weekly) then it should work. If you want a more relaxed fishkeeping experience I would recommend the following:

One=55 gallons
Two=90 Gallons
Three=125 Gallons

I know some say a 75 is the bare minimum for one, but I disagree. I have kept s 14 inch oscar in a 55 gallon and it was healthy and happy. Even though the tank is only 12 inches wide, the fish has no trouble turning. Of course that being said, if you can afford the 75 get it. Bigger is better in this case.

Bigger is always better.

Gotta have a O at least once in your life.
