Atlantics do way better in salt than in fresh. Every time I hear of them in Freshwater I get so mad. They are a saltwater ray!!!!!!!!!
True, although I have heard of them being kept in high range brackish well, fresh really isn't for them.

Except for the FW population of Dasyatis sabina occurring in the St Johns River. They live their entire lives (and Breed) in the alkaline FW (with trace salt) of the river. This population grows to a smaller adult size and their water intake/urea output is 10 times that of their marine counterparts (it's this rate of fluid transfer that makes them so difficult to care for in a captive environment).
