Whats the problem here? Is it a threatened or endangered animal?

Also who wants to bet that the 5lb bag of Tyson chicken you bought at the grocery store last Sunday cost more then these people make a day, maybe even a week?!?

I don't think their is a problem here. They are just sharing what their cultures eat.

I would see a problem if the species that is being killed is endangered. I do not know if the species in the picture is or isn't however.

I wonder how long it took for that turtle to get to a desireable cooking/eating size vs the growth rate of a chicken.

Thats my thought too. I'm all for trying different things, and would have no hesitation trying farm-raised turtle, but a large wild-caught animal like that could be a big blow to the breeding population if they are endangered...
